Green vs Blue Quiz Is on Google Play
Published: 2026-10-24
This week a new game went out: Green vs Blue Quiz, a two-team movie quiz you play on one phone, is now on Google Play. Big Whale Hunting also has a new page that shows how many people the biggest companies employ, Issue Infinity now adds new comics on its own twice a week, and Diende lets you share your lists. Here's what changed.
Green vs Blue Quiz: now on Google Play
Green vs Blue Quiz is a buzzer quiz about films for two teams sharing one Android phone. Green has a big round buzzer on the left of the screen and Blue has one on the right. The phone reads each question out loud, and the first team to hit their buzzer gets to answer. It is out now on Google Play.
I spent most of the week getting it ready for release. The question bank went from 80 questions to over 250, with new ones on superhero films and animated films, and I fixed a couple of answers that were wrong along the way. The game won't repeat any of the last 100 questions you were asked, even across games. A short "Get ready" screen comes before each question, with the buzzers locked so nobody can jump the gun. After the second question the voice calls out the score with a little quip, and it shouts "Tie-breaker!" before a sudden-death question. There's also a pause button, and the game pauses on its own if you switch away from it.
Big Whale Hunting: employees and revenue
The company table on Big Whale Hunting now has a column for each company's employee count and another for its 2025 revenue, and the market cap figures have been refreshed for all 500 companies. Most employee counts come from Yahoo Finance. For the few companies it has no number for, I take the number from Wikipedia instead.
Those numbers go into a new employees page. It uses the same market cap bubbles, grouped by sector, but each bubble is filled with little stick figures, and one figure stands for 10,000 employees. You can see at a glance which giant companies employ very few people and which smaller ones have huge workforces.
I've also put out a new version of last week's market cap timeline video, this time with music by Adrian Mee:
Issue Infinity: new comics twice a week
Issue Infinity no longer needs me to add new comics by hand. Every Monday and Thursday it checks Marvel, Image and DC for new single issues and adds them to the site. I also ran it once over each publisher's whole back catalog, which for Marvel alone is about 39,000 issues going back to 1939. Titles that publishers write in all capitals are now shown in normal title case, and the previous and next buttons on an issue page show a small cover of the issue they lead to.
Diende: share your lists
On Diende you can now make any of your saved lists public and send the link to anyone, on the web or in the Android app. Lists stay private until you choose to share them, and visitors can look at a shared list but can't pick from it. There's also a new post on the Diende blog: I love buying books more than reading them, about a 30-book reading pile and letting Diende choose what to read next.
Galazon: waiting on Steam
A quieter week for Galazon. I'm still waiting for my Steam account to be set up before the PC version can go on Steam. The one change this week is a fix to the hull repair engineer, who now always starts patching once there are six holes in the floor. Before, that number crept up as the quarters went by, until late in a long run the engineer stopped turning up at all.
That's it for this week. Thanks for reading.
